Pharmacological action:

Reduces resorption and increases bone density, offsetting the lack of calcium and vitamin D₃ in the body, regulates the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus in the body.

Pharmacodynamics:

Vitamin D increases calcium absorption in the digestive tract and binding it to the bone. Prevents the increase the production of parathyroid hormone which stimulates bone resorption.
